An icon that is immensely popular today as an enthusiast car, and yet there are so few upgrade products for it. We have done our bit to change that and are proud to present this intercooler solution! We felt there was room for a more lavish, better thought-out and elegant model-specific intercooler with matching pipes and hoses. A solution worthy of a car like this. Key advantages of the do88 FMIC kit: - Superb cooling performance and flow! - Fits without air conditioning, model years up to 1986 with the old front. - Fits together with air conditioning, model years from 1987 with the new front. - Fits with the battery in its original position. - A new towing eye is included (the original one has to be cut off). This intercooler kit consists of an intercooler made entirely from aluminium together with a complete kit of 2" / 2.75" aluminium charge pipes and silicone hoses. The kit replaces everything between the turbocharger and the throttle body and therefore gives drastically improved flow and cooling compared with the original. The intercooler is built with CAD-designed, flow-optimised cast end tanks and a carefully selected core, to achieve the best possible cooling together with the lowest possible pressure drop! The charge pipes are made from extruded 2" (turbo to intercooler) and 2.75" (intercooler to throttle body) aluminium tubing, mandrel-bent into the correct shape! Specially designed silicone hoses of the highest quality with 4-layer polyester/aramid reinforcement to withstand high temperatures and pressures. It is worth bearing in mind that the original intercooler and its charge pipes were designed for the power the car had as standard. When power is raised, or the car is used very hard even in standard form, their performance is no longer sufficient.
