The best intake system on the market for the Saab 9-3 SS / SC 2.8t V6! Contains the do88 heat shield, silicone hose, air filter and mounting hardware. A matching BMC Twin Air air filter is available as an option. This kit is for those with high power targets who want to upgrade to the very best. Our intake system flows better than the original system. This has been verified on our own SuperFlow SF-1020 flow bench. A specially designed silicone hose with an integrated stainless sleeve for connecting the air filter. The silicone hose included is matched for connection to the do88 3.5" (89 mm) inlet pipe. The heat shield is designed to screen off the space in which the air filter is mounted, to avoid drawing hot engine bay air into the filter. It is custom designed for the purpose and supplied with high-quality sealing strips that screen the filter from hot air better than other intake systems on the market that can match the high flow and low pressure drop of the do88 system. The filter ends up in a position in the engine bay where it is fed with air from the duct running from the car's grille. To improve this further, our air hose with article number AD89 can be fitted from any point in the front of the car to the hole in the chassis below the air filter position. The do88 intake system gives an air flow of 664 CFM* at 0.125 bar pressure drop, compared with 560 CFM for the original system. * Measured with the AEM Dryflow filter that can be bought together with this product. With a different filter the air flow may change. Bear in mind that the original inlet pipe and air filter were designed for the power the car had as standard. When power is increased their performance may no longer be sufficient, and the result is too much vacuum on the suction side of the turbo, which lowers engine efficiency and loses power. So as soon as boost pressure is raised / the software is upgraded / the car is chipped, our intake system gives improved performance compared with the original intake system.
