Performance intake system for the VAG 1.8 2.0 TSI (MQB)! This kit is designed for the demanding user with high power targets who at the same time wants to keep a near-standard appearance of the intake system. The do88 performance intake system eliminates the bottlenecks in the original system. The lower airbox half easily supports power levels up to 500 hp. However, the original airbox lid and the pipe to the turbo inlet are too restrictive for higher power levels. do88 therefore focused on eliminating the bottlenecks in the airbox lid and the pipe to the turbo inlet. Our airbox lid is made from rotationally moulded plastic with a 3 1/8" (80 mm) inlet pipe with smooth, even transitions, to greatly reduce turbulence and obstructions before the turbo inlet. Thanks to this, we can keep an almost standard appearance of the intake system and still support high power levels (up to 500 hp), 100% bolt-on with no modifications to the car. The do88 air intake system has 44% better air flow than the original (complete do88 intake system with BMC panel air filter and do88 turbo inlet pipe). Verified on our own SuperFlow SF-1020 flow bench. Our intake system is designed to improve flow / lower the vacuum while drawing only cold air into the engine. Many aftermarket intake systems draw hot air from the engine bay, which results in high IAT and therefore lower power / performance. Our design retains the original fresh air inlet, which is a true "cold air intake". The do88 intake system fits cars both with and without an SAI connection in the airbox lid. As an option in this kit, an upgraded BMC high-flow filter can be included to replace the original paper filter. This air filter gives increased flow while providing perfect filtration. Another option for this kit is to include the do88 3" turbo inlet pipe to improve the inlet system further. We recommend using our intake system with our 3" inlet pipe, as they are matched to each other for the best possible flow to the turbo. The do88 performance intake system comes as a complete kit with all the parts needed for fitting.
