Here are our different BigPack configurations for the BMW M2C / M3 / M4 F8X These are complete kits for the charge air cooling system with a drop-in fit! The BMW M2C / M3 / M4 F8X has a twin-turbo engine (S55) that uses a top-mounted water-cooled intercooler instead of a “normal” air-cooled intercooler. The original intercooler has a Tube & Fin core with plastic end tanks that are clamped on. This design has its drawbacks, as it is prone to cracking and starting to leak coolant into the engine intake, or to leaking boost pressure out of the seal between the plastic tanks and the core. The coolant in this system has its own separate cooling circuit made up of two radiators connected in parallel and a pump. The larger of these two radiators is positioned furthest forward in the large radiator pack in the middle of the front end, the second, smaller radiator is positioned in front of the right wheel arch. These cars have plastic pipes both before and after the intercooler. These pipes are a weak link on a tuned car and in some cases on a standard car too, as they can crack and start to leak. We have developed upgrade parts for all of these areas using advanced 3D scanning and 3D design within the scanned space. We have carried out detailed CFD simulations on most of the parts, as well as numerous tests, to know that we deliver the best performance upgrade! Three different configurations of this product are available: 1. Intercooler and both intercooler pipe kits 2. Intercooler and both radiators for the intercooler system 3. Intercooler, both intercooler pipe kits and both radiators for the intercooler system Our performance intercooler makes the engine deliver more power, both by lowering the intake temperature and by reducing the pressure drop! It has a bar and plate core with 3D freeform-designed end tanks TIG-welded to the core. Its core volume is 85% larger than that of the original intercooler and it beats the original both in air flow and in cooling efficiency. 16% higher flow and 9°C lower intake temperature, so with both better flow and lower intake temperature this is a genuine upgrade! Our radiators for the charge air cooling system lower the water temperature in that system. This gives a lower intake temperature, which in turn gives more power and more consistent performance. We have achieved this by increasing the frontal area, by greater core thickness and by well-specified cores with multi-channel tubes! Our intercooler pipes, both those running from the turbochargers to the intercooler and the one running from the intercooler to the throttle body, are designed for increased reliability while improving flow at the same time. Improving both durability and flow is not entirely straightforward, as the original pipes flow well. With our knowledge and our equipment, which lets us both run software simulations during design and verify flow on the physical part, we are confident that we are making improvements - which is more than most suppliers of this type of pipe can say!
