BMC model-specific air filters. BMC is one of the world-leading players on the market for automotive air filters, suitable both for road use and for racing at the highest level. BMC's filters are designed and developed to allow better flow than the original ones, and in some cases they produce less than half the pressure drop of an original paper filter. The filters therefore provide better flow together with better filtration, and thus increased protection for the engine. The filters are supplied pre-oiled and are ready to use immediately on delivery. They are designed with the maximum filter area, built on a fine-mesh metal structure which is then coated with several layers of filter media. This cotton-based filter material allows good permeability while stopping contaminants and dirt from 7 microns upwards. Synthetic filters can normally stop contaminants from 80 microns upwards. With today's technology there is no better filtration system available. The red rubber has been developed specifically to withstand heat, impacts and vibration. All model-specific filters are designed to fit the respective application without modification. All BMC filters are washable. Cleaning agents and oil specifically suited to this purpose are available.
