The world's first model-specific inlet hoses for the Porsche 992 Turbo! Background The inlet system on the Porsche 992 has been completely reworked compared with earlier generations, with a different layout of the system's components. The principle is of course always the same – air that is as cold as possible, in as large a quantity as possible, is what produces power and is felt behind the wheel! Considerations The efficiency of a turbocharged car depends directly on the inlet temperature and the back pressure in the system. What is sometimes forgotten is that good flow ahead of the turbo compressor is just as important if it is to work efficiently. Reduced vacuum and cold inlet air mean the turbocharger can pump a greater mass of air, which ultimately affects the amount of oxygen reaching the intake - and that produces power. In short, there are large power gains to be had from a good inlet system! Over our years of development we have come to see the clear relationship between intake temperature, flow to the turbochargers and how this affects the car's power. The Porsche 911, with its twin turbochargers and good tuning potential, always asks for more oxygen. That was true then and it is true now! do88 turbo inlet hoses We began our development by 3D scanning the entire available space on the car so that the products could be worked on in a CAD environment in a rational way. The whole system is flow-optimised, and radii and angles have been reworked in stages to achieve the best result! The finished product is CFD-verified and, of course, also flow-verified on our own flow bench, a Superflow SF-1020, so that the customer knows what they are buying. The hoses come in a matt black, textured finish and are supplied with CNC-machined adapters that connect to the turbocharger inlet, onto which the hoses are then fastened. The hoses are designed to be connected to the original airbox or to a do88 air filter system with a 66 mm connection. We include black hose clamps of the best quality! Note that these hoses offer a good upgrade and can be seen as a good first step in refining a Porsche 911. We would, however, stress that the greatest effect is achieved when these hoses are used together with a do88 air filter system; only then are all restrictions ahead of the turbo compressor eliminated.
