This is the best intercooler on the market for the Volvo 740 940 Turbo! A high-performance intercooler developed by do88 which replaces the original intercooler and delivers very good performance without having to rebuild the whole car! Key advantages of the do88 high-performance intercooler (original intercooler): - Core volume: 13945 cm3 (8465 cm3), do88 65% larger! - Air flow at 0.15 bar pressure drop: 334 CFM (278 CFM), do88 20% higher! - Temperature after the intercooler under the same test conditions: 28°C (49°C), do88 21°C lower! - Fits directly in the specified car models with very small modifications! The rubber in the two upper mountings needs to be cut open slightly because of the increased thickness. Mountings for the air conditioning condenser are present on this intercooler, but the screw holes need to be drilled (2 through-holes in the mountings, easy to do). Made entirely from aluminium, with CAD-designed, flow-optimised cast end tanks and a carefully selected core (60 mm thick) to achieve the best possible cooling together with the lowest possible pressure drop! It is worth remembering that the original intercooler was designed for the power the car had as standard, and once power is raised, or the car is used very hard in standard form, its performance is no longer sufficient. So even with raised boost pressure / a software upgrade / chip tuning, our intercooler will improve performance! The original intercooler has plastic end tanks which do not cope with higher boost pressure over longer periods, so our intercooler also improves reliability. A common misconception is that an intercooler in this position cannot provide good cooling and that a front-mounted intercooler / FMIC would be far better. In reality the do88 high-performance intercooler is far better than most FMIC installations, where there is only room for a core with far too small a cooling area, often with the air supply partly blocked by the crash bar, for example, which in many cases gives worse cooling than the original intercooler.
